Infusing Iconic Hong Kong Elements into Modern Jewelry Design

The Hong Kong Skyline collection stands out for its unique combination of oriental culture and jewelry processing. The collection is not just jewelry; it's a representation of eastern traditional culture and art, aiming to bring these elements into people's lives and present the special culture to different countries. The pieces are made of 925 sterling silver with hand-set round crystals, but can also be tailor-made in 18K white or yellow gold, as well as diamonds.

The collection includes pendants, earrings, and brooches, each meticulously crafted to represent the Hong Kong skyline. The designs are perfect complements for contemporary jewelry and also serve as classic and iconic souvenirs. The pieces are designed to be worn for every occasion, making them versatile additions to any jewelry collection.

The project started in January 2014 in Hong Kong, with the first style completed in April 2014. The newest style was finished in May 2018. The design process involved in-depth data research to analyze the trend of the jewelry market and the demand for urban souvenirs. The goal was to combine new markets with jewelry and souvenirs and design products for the future.

One of the main challenges in designing the collection was to detail the Hong Kong signature buildings and elements in small-sized jewelry pieces. The designer wanted the wearer to imagine the beautiful silhouette of Hong Kong city when wearing the pieces. For example, the earrings, when opened, line up straightly, like standing in front of Hong Kong Victoria Harbor looking towards the opposite shore.

The Hong Kong Skyline Jewelry collection has gained recognition for its innovative design, winning the Silver A' Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder. The collection is a testament to the designer's ability to combine traditional culture and modern design in a unique and captivating way.
